Day by Day

  1. HANOI.
    Welcome to Vietnam's capital city, an attractive, laid back city with charming French-Colonial style buildings, spacious boulevards and cheerful bustling markets. Upon arrival in Hanoi you will be transferred to your hotel where you will be met by our local representative.

  2. HANOI.
    Enjoy a full day of sightseeing taking in the TEMPLE OF LITERATURE, a peaceful series of walled courtyards, HO CHI MINH MAUSOLEUM, HO CHI MINH STILT HOUSE and ONE PILLAR PAGODA, designed to resemble a lotus blossom, a Buddhist symbol of purity. Later see Hoan Kiem Lake, the HISTORY MUSEUM and the fascinating network of alleyways and shop-houses which make up the Old Quarter. (B,L,D)

  3. HANOI.
    Journey through the tranquil countryside to CHUA THAY PAGODA, home to an ancient stage where it is believed the first water puppet show was performed. Later, admire the carved wooden roof and unique architectural shape of TAY PHUONG, one of Vietnam's first pagodas. Return to Hanoi for a WATER PUPPET SHOW. (B,L)

  4. HANOI - HALONG BAY.
    Drive to Halong Bay, one of Vietnam's favourite destinations, and board your CRUISE BOAT for a leisurely journey through the dramatic limestone islands of the bay. Lunch is served while you cruise past islets, caves, beaches and floating villages. This afternoon you may wish to enjoy sunset on the top of Titov Mountain or take a bamboo row boat to discover a water tunnel, scenic lagoon and coral reef. Anchor in a secluded lagoon for your overnight, onboard stay. (B,L,D)

  5. HALONG BAY - HANOI - DANANG - HOI AN.
    Before breakfast, you may have the opportunity to view sunrise over the bay. Continue cruising through Halong Bay to Bai Tho Mountain in the beautiful Bai Tu Long Bay before returning to the dock for disembarkation. Later, fly to Danang and travel to the traditional but vibrant town of Hoi An. (B,L,D)

  6. HOI AN.
    Start today with a CRUISE on the Thu Bon River, passing unspoiled countryside on the way to a pottery village and a wood carving village. Return to Hoi An to explore the town on a leisurely WALKING TOUR, taking in sights such as the JAPANESE COVERED BRIDGE, a family chapel and the SA HUYNH MUSEUM with its early Hoi An history. (B,L,D)

  7. HOI AN.
    Today is free to further explore the quaint streets of Hoi An. Perhaps take a cooking class, visit a spa, or take a day trip by local ferry to the beautiful Cham Island. (B)

  8. HOI AN - DANANG - HUE.
    Journey back to Danang and visit the CHAM MUSEUM. Continue through the spectacular Hai Van Pass (weather permitting), to the imperial walled city of Hue. Here your sightseeing tour takes in the FORBIDDEN PURPLE CITY, modelled on Beijing's famed Forbidden City and includes visits to NGO MON GATE, THAI HOA PALACE, the HALLS OF THE MANDARINS and the NINE DYNASTIC URNS.   9. HUE - HO CHI MINH.
    Begin today with a boat trip on the Perfume River to the pretty THIEN MU PAGODA, made up of seven tiers. Continue up the river to the IMPERIAL TOMB OF MINH MANG, a majestic complex of courtyards, pavilions and temples in a beautiful setting. Later, fly to Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam's largest and most dynamic city, packed with timeless traditions. (B,L)

  10. HO CHI MINH.
    Today's sightseeing tour takes in DONG KHOI STREET, the main shopping thoroughfare, the NOTRE DAME CATHEDRAL and the Central Post Office. Afterwards visit the REUNIFICATION PALACE, the WAR REMNANTS MUSEUM as well as Cholon, the Chinese district. (B,L)

  11. HO CHI MINH AND CU CHI TUNNELS.
    Today, visit the CU CHI region, an important base during the Vietnamese War. Learn about the impressive underground network of tunnels constructed by the Viet Cong to connect command posts, hospitals, shelters and weapon factories. See secret trapdoors, underground kitchens, living areas and meeting rooms. If you are feeling adventurous, you may enter and explore the deep, narrow tunnels. (B)

  12. HO CHI MINH - CAN THO.
    Journey south to Cai Be, known for its large, floating markets, and board a motorised SAMPAN for an introduction to life on the Mekong River. Continue across the upper reaches of the river to a maze of tributaries and fruit plantations before ending at Vinh Long. Later, travel to the Mekong Delta's economic hub city of Can Tho. (B,L,D)

  13. CAN THO - HO CHI MINH.
    This morning enjoy a CRUISE to Cai Rang, a bustling market town where you will enjoy a SAMPAN ride through the colourful congestion of women and children jostling for space and vying to sell their wares. Return to Can Tho where you will have the opportunity to explore the markets, before continuing back to Ho Chi Minh in the afternoon. (B)

  14. HO CHI MINH - PHNOM PENH.
    Today fly to Phnom Penh, Cambodia's capital city. The remainder of the day is at leisure. (B)

  15. PHNOM PENH.
    Visit the ROYAL PALACE, the 19th century home of the Royal Family, as well as the haunting GENOCIDE MUSEUM, a former torture and interrogation centre of the Khmer Rouge. (B,L,D)

  16. PHNOM PENH - SIEM REAP.
    Fly to Siem Reap and visit nearby Angkor, the ancient Khmer capital. Marvel at the splendid temple complex including ANGKOR WAT, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and ANGKOR THOM, the former fortified Royal City. (B,L,D)

  17. SIEM REAP.
    Enjoy another day exploring the sights of Angkor. Visit the exquisite 10th century BANTEAY SREI TEMPLE and TA KEO, the first Angkorian monument built entirely of sandstone. Also visit TA PROHM, SRAS SRANG and PRASAT KRAVAN. (B,L,D)

  18. SIEM REAP.
    Your tour ends today with a transfer to the airport. (B)
